I am so good!! Finished the first 10 minute audio piece using golden gate bridge cables for an exhibition, in which I hope to be included. After 3 days trying to get access to a computer in the media art department at uni (hello!?) on which I could a. input sound b. edit sound and c. burn sound to cd.
You wouldn't think it would be that hard, being a MEDIA ART lab and all, but there were various obstacles to be overcome from missing software, to memory problems, passwords not working, machines with whiz bang everything except a sound editing program, some with said program but no cd burner, others in locked rooms with no key.... it's all the more satisfying to have finally got it done.
After a week of reading deprivation (julia you are a goddess - a quick plug for the artists way getting me back on track!) I am so ready to get back into study and start actually reading some of those library books I keep renewing. Feeling much more positive about life and everything now I've managed to get some work done.
Lots of admin stuff to do - following up remix people, writing grant applications - but at least I'm not stuck in an office doing that for other people, which almost happened this week when a friend offered me work filling in for her bosses pa - luckily she rang back and told me they had decided to find someone else, because I couldn't do the whole week. My heart sank right down to my toes at the thought of running around being told what to do and using all that energy for someone else - made me very appreciative of the enormous amount of time I have right now (being a 'full-time artist' and all) and determined to use it wisely.

This week's full moon is in cancer and all the astrologers keep saying it will be an intense emotional time - so what's new. Found time last night (due to not reading) to sort through all my old photos and 2 boxes of assorted images and postcards I've collected over the last twelve years, and tonight's mission is to put the ones I love into a photo album. Very satisfying.

Incredible dream last night with a black panther (wild cat) which at first was terrifying but then became friendly and was so soft to stroke - deeply symbolic, no doubt. Also had a large number of sparkly magic wands - woke up feeling amazing.
