Not sure what I've been up to exactly. Time drifting away in a blur of something less strenuous than activity, more engaged than lounging around. Although plenty of that too.
Playing with the kids at contemporary sculptors association, lots of fun. Realised that I finally got that art gallery position I was dreaming of when my last real employer went bust.
Started hooking into the art 'scene' here, visiting friends in their studio's, putting together an artists book for a group show at Club - very funky space above the builders arms pub on gertrude st. Peeling paint, chandeliers, kind of shabby decadent eastern european feeling. very lush, reminds me of Berlin.
Many more proposals to get finished this week, and some images and sounds to play with.
Have received a few remixes back from people, the compilation cd is going to be fantastic!
Hoping to get that out by November - met someone at dinner after Thomas' opening who manages a CD production co, gave me an excellent quote on making the CD's with sexy cardboard covers, also getting ideas together for the book. All in all a very productive time, even though nothing concrete has eventuated yet - it will!
Woke up happy this morning, for the first time in months. Must have been all the laughter watching eurovision song contest last night - very happy that Turkey won, they had fantastic dancers and an almost listenable song. I did love the German answer to Laurie Anderson, she was apparently the oldest ever eurovision contestant, with spiky red hair and a weathered face, although cyprus had the best lyrics - 'say the bullshit, tell them I love you' - honest, anyway. So glad tatou didn't win, their lyrics sounded like 'she's got boys in her brassiere' and they totally sucked. I could swear it was the same two blonde boys gyrating smugly in every single group, but maybe they all studied at the Eurotrash dance academy.
Anyway, going to find a studio in the next month and have somewhere to go work everyday. Can't wait!
