5 years to the day since I left Sydney. I seem to remember having some quixotic dream of living a more "Bohemian" life in Melbourne. Whatever that meant. Many late nights in cafe's maybe. Overall though, I think I have reached this goal - just didn't realise it was in fact a five year plan. Working in a sculpture gallery, living in a great house in the inner city with the housemate of the millennium, who is generally wonderful and has taught me to take decadence to new levels in everyday life. Even drank Absinthe after work one night last week, although only the one shot, no dancing green fairies for me! And having a solo exhibition in august - my first, crazy isn't it?
Very excited, just need to play with some sound composition.... been saying that for a while.
Had a hilarious meeting with my supervisor at uni on monday, when he told me that some of my sentences didn't make any sense. On him reading one particularly abstruse cascade of words back to me, I had to agree that it actually didn't make sense. No subject or object or something, I don't know. I'm a conceptual artist, I can't be expected to be comprehensible. (grin)
