It's been seven years. That's right. January 2002.

For some reason, this feels like a good time to stop.
This is my last post.
Here, at least.

Stripping back and rebuilding.
That seems to be what it's all about.
The website will be redone. One day.

Until then, look for news, updates, happenings,
writing and info about where what how and with whom:

HERE (link to come once the new bare bones are up)

Have a magnificent night, wishing you all the peace, love and joy in the world.

Happy 2009!

Goodbye, Goodnight and Good luck!!

Slowly phasing out the blog thing, in this format. Part of the new grand plan, and it just feels like time. For a change, another perspective. The writing is becoming more coherent, which I like, slowly accumulating into a different form. The end of the rainbow is nice. There really is a pot of gold. The golden opportunity for peace and focus. So little distraction here on the Croatian island Korcula.

Safely back from the edge of the cliffs now, sitting in my window and writing tales of esoteric travels. Life doesn't get much better. Simple & peaceful.

Even starting to have an inkling of the beginning of a plan. Made a list of all my activities in 2008 and realised, no wonder I was exhausted. That was completely insane.

Bring on 2009!

Hello Sydney!

So homesick, I'm listening to triple j online.

'Keep dancing til it hurts' nice tag line, guys.

The thing about this whole small world village blah is that it's actually geographically not possible to be everywhere. And not humanly possible to be everywhere at once. Damn physical limitations.

OK that's it I have work to do. A life to sort out.
Staying away from the cliffs. The abyss just looks so tempting. And stretches away in every direction.

Another day of wild and stormy weather. Fantastic waves, crashing up into the concrete quay with a whale blowhole effect. I love it, walking around my daily fortress is a lot more windswept than usual. The Jugo, I believe, out of season though. Floods and catastrophe. Glad I don't have to set foot on a boat. Not leaving the island until the sea calms down. Definitely not in the Krilo Jet Catamaran, which I was convinced was going to be the end of me after Hvar... and had the great pleasure of watching being lifted from the cargo ship earlier in the week. Oh the drama. My internal weather matches the external. Not much I can say about that, other than I hope it calms down soon. Missing friends and family in Australia more than I can begin to express. Kisses and love, Jodi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Well it's official. I can no longer ignore the season, but am happy to have escaped being forced to look at tinsel until now. Yes, the local council of Korcula has only today strung up it's xmas lights, and I have to say the old town looks even more like a fairy tale than ever.

Trying to get some of the festive spirit, and remember that my life is also more like a fairy tale than anything else. Still, time to get back to reality one of these days.

I happened upon this wonderful quote on Pam Brown's site while writing another esoteric-tinged travel article for viator (this one on public sculpture follows a recent rave about spiritual travels and one of my personal favourites, all tried and tested by yours truly in the past few years being broke all over the world:

tips for travel on a shoestring!

I think this just about sums it up...

'Now I forgive the delicious lunacy
Which made me use up all my best years
Without my work bringing any advantage other
Than the pleasure of a long delinquency'

This feels like a resolution somehow. The end of one chapter, or perhaps one book. Hopefully beginning of another. Got the latest rejection letter this morning, one down three to go. Feeling a little shipwrecked to be honest. Know there is more life in the bridge story yet, just have no idea where to from here. Or how to.
